Hatsume Fair

Today we enjoyed the Hatsume Fair at the Morikami Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach. It was quite a drive but well worth it. The park was breath taking with wonderful gardens, waterfalls, and wooden bridges. Who would have known we had this little gem in our neck of the woods. Mei-Li had a wonderful time, and even clapped and yelled during the drum presentation. We were there for 3 hours, and only saw probably about a quarter of the grounds with all the festivities going on. We definitely plan will be back soon, to see the rest of the grounds.

We had some great photos opps with Grandma, Mei-Li and I. A passerby snapped a picture of all 3 of us, just to find out he was a pro. ML did great and looked straight at the camera.

So a little background on "Hatsume" It's much like a spring festival for the Japanese in where they celebrate the first blooms of spring. My mom picked up a bonsai plant, and I had to tear her away from the beautiful orchids.

Hear are a few of the photos, the rest are on the link on the right sidebar under "online photo journal."
